 Counselling/Psychotherapy

Counselling/Psychotherapy provides a space in which you can talk about whatever concerns you in a completely confidential and supportive atmosphere.  It can help you to:

.  Work through a particular crisis or problem
.  Come to terms with traumatic experiences such as illness, divorce, grief or loss
.  Reduce the effect that patterns from the past have on your life today
.  Know yourself more deeply
.  Find your own answers
.  Make essential changes in your life

The work, which we do together, may involve getting in touch with difficult material, which may cause you to feel worse before you feel better.  However, facing your problems, and dealing with them thoroughly will enable you to be in touch with your inner resources and live more effectively.

The same slot/s is/are reserved for you each week. This means that  unless I am given at least a week’s notice any missed sessions need to be paid for.  However, I will always try to offer you an alternative appointment in the same week.  N.B. As I do not have a waiting area please come at the given time.

Occasionally I may need to change your usual appointment due to a professional commitment, in which case an alternative session will be offered.  I would like us to agree to give each other as much notice of  holidays as possible.  In the case of short breaks it may be possible to arrange an alternative session.

For the duration of the work you agree not to cause mental or physical harm to partners, children or any others (including the therapist) or their property.

I am committed to maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of my work and will not disclose any personal information about you with the exception of the following –
I will be discussing client work within my professional supervision, which also operates within a confidentiality policy. I may need to break confidentiality if I believe you pose a serious risk to yourself or others, however, I would always try to discuss this with you first.

Whereas the choice to end the counselling/therapy is naturally yours to make, it is by negotiation.

Fee:  £45.00 per 60 minute session.
(Fees are reviewed annually in April)
